Construction, Maintenance & Allied Workers Local 2300 Annual Bursary Program. Bursaries of $500.00 each will be awarded to students within the School Districts within the East & West Kootenay areas who are pursuing an Apprenticeship in the trade of Carpentry/Joinery or Millwright. The Education Committee will choose deserving applicants based on an essay submitted along with this completed application form.
Eligibility
Applicants are required to write a short essay between 300 – 500 words explaining why they are pursuing a career in their chosen trade of either Carpentry/Joinery or Millwright. Applications will be accepted from graduating students who are starting their Apprenticeship as a 1st year Apprentice or from graduating students who have completed their first year in high school through the YTT (Youth Train in Trades) and are enrolling in Level 2. The graduate must be completing high school within this calendar school year (September 2020 – June 2021). Successful applicants will receive their bursary money only after proof of registration in their trade is received.
