sGrade 11 Basketball Coaches
As part of the grade 11 Physical Education course you are expected to apply etiquette and fair play as a coach. To meet this criteria you will prepare a 15minute basketball drill either independently or with a partner, then during class time you will direct a small group of your classmates through the drill (note you may have to repeat your drill with a second group of peers). Your drill will include: instructions (including technique), demonstration, drill and feedback. You will be expected to hand-in a written outline of your plan at least one week before your assigned day. Please see Ms. Adams to sign up for either Friday October 28th or Friday November 4th (limited space).
Grade 12 Basketball Referees
As part of the grade 12 Physical Education course you are expected to apply etiquette and fair play as a referee. To meet this criteria you will be taking turns as a referee for basketball scrimmages during class on October 28th and November 4th. In preparation for this role you will complete a written outline of the rules of basketball. This outline will include a brief description of the game of basketball (ex. how the game is played, the purpose of the game, the games history, how to score in the game, how the game is won, how many players are on each team, etc) as well as a labeled image of the basketball court. This written assignment is to be completed in your own words and must include a bibliography. You will hand-in a copy of this on Friday October 14th, you will keep a copy of this as a cheat sheet for when you are refereeing.
